high in the Cascade Mountains, was taken about 1912,
and is typical of the many attempts to wrest gold
and silver from the hills in Washington State.
Volume 1 includes those mines and prospects located in the west central Cascade Mountains. Gold, silver, and copper were sought, and sometimes successfully located in the colorful rush that began in the nineteenth and pushed into the twentieth centuries.
Volume 2 records the mines that were located in the eastern Cascade Mountains, and includes the great copper and gold mines that operated there.
Volume 3 speaks of those mines situated in the north Cascade Mountains, through the Pasayten Wilderness and Slate Creek locales.
